St. Crispin's Community Infant School is situated in Westgate-on-Sea,  just  outside  Margate, Kent. The age range of the pupils is from four years to seven years and it is a mixed school.

We have three year groups - Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with three classes in each group. With each class having a maximum of 30 children, we have an overall maximum of 270 pupils. At present we are slightly below that maximum but numbers are rising all the time.

The school has been here now for just over 45 years, in fact St. Crispin’s celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2003. A display of photographs lent by the parents and other people showed just how much the school has changed in that time. Different projects we have undertaken lately show that the school will continue to change in the future.
A Mission Statement For St. Crispin’s Infant School

“ The Road to Success is Always Under Construction ”

We at St Crispin’s have a vision of a working environment, suitable and worthy of the pupils and staff of the school. We will aim to keep up to date with any new technologies as they emerge and provide the early skills that our pupils will need to be successful in their futures.

We envisage

Ÿ
An environment where all adults and children are valued and represented
Ÿ
A place where all adults are working towards excellence in their areas of responsibility
Ÿ
A place where all pupils understand the expectation of excellence in behaviour and
         effort in their work

The changes necessary for coping with the 21st Century will not detract from the caring, happy ethos, which is an accepted and integral part of St Crispin’s Infant School.

AIMS

We at St. Crispin’s adopt the Kent Education Authority educational aims:-

§
To maintain and develop in pupils, lively enquiring minds; to promote the ability to question and argue rationally; to encourage pupils to apply themselves to a range of tasks and skills
§
To emphasize the importance of language, number, the aesthetic and physical areas of learning and to develop competence in them.
§
To foster attitudes that will instil self-confidence in pupils, create in them a sense of personal excellence and help them to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to life and work in a fast-changing world, including those taking place with technology.
§
To help pupils to develop perceptive, spiritual and moral values, and an understanding of the religions and beliefs of others.
§
To help pupils to understand the world in which they live and the inter-dependence of individuals, groups and nations.
§
To develop in pupils the ability to appreciate critically, human achievements and aspirations.

The curriculum is the means whereby these aims are pursued.
